What is Influenza (flu)?
The flu is a contagious respiratory
illness caused by influenza viruses. It
can cause mild to severe illness, and at
times can lead to death. The best way to
prevent the flu is by getting a flu
vaccination each year.
In the U.S., the peak flu season
typically
occurs anywhere from late December
through March; however, flu season can
last as late as May. Protect yourself
and your family by getting a flu shot.
